Viessmann Heat Pumps Join the Squad at FC Bayern Munich

Allendorf (Eder)/Munich, Germany – Viessmann Climate Solutions has supplied 19 heat pumps to FC Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena. The Vitocal 350 HT-PRO heat pumps are responsible for the decentralised heat supply to the entire stadium, ensuring, for example, that the bistro, fan shop and the ‘Experience World’ areas are kept at a comfortable temperature for the club’s thousands of fans. In addition, the roofs of the visitor control areas have been equipped with around 1,050 photovoltaic modules to further increase energy self-sufficiency at the Allianz Arena.

Viessmann Climate Solutions is part of Carrier Corporation (NYSE: CARR), global leader in intelligent climate and energy solutions.

This is the latest step in a plan to gradually upgrade the Allianz Arena with state-of-theart, renewable climate solutions from Viessmann Climate Solutions and Carrier Global and to reduce CO₂ emissions by up to 40 percent. Three large heat pumps from Carrier were installed in 2022 to supply the soccer field heating system.

Viessmann has been a strategic partner of FC Bayern Munich since 2018, beginning as a regional partner in China before expanding its collaboration across Southeast Asia in 2021. Since the 2022/23 season, the relationship has grown into a global “Official Climate Partner” arrangement, embracing a shared commitment to sustainability. Under the deal, which runs to the end of June 2026, Viessmann provides state-of-the-art heating, cooling, ventilation, water treatment and air purification technology for FC Bayern facilities, including the FC Bayern Women’s team. The sponsorship also includes joint environmental campaigns, brand usage rights, LED board placements at the Allianz Arena, and endorsements from Thomas Müller to drive awareness of renewable and energy-efficient solutions.

To accompany FC Bayern Munich’s latest new team “signings” Viessmann Climate Solutions has developed a humorous advertising campaign, created and produced by Hamburg-based creative studio 27km, where renowned Bayern stars demonstrate their acting talent by reacting self-deprecatingly to the confusion surrounding their “new colleagues.”
