Viessmann opens new Chinese factory
18th November 2019
Pinghu, China – Viessmann has opened a new plant for the manufacture of wall-mounted gas boilers for the Chinese market, in Pinghu, a city close to Shanghai. In addition to the 12,000 m2 factory, the company has also built a centre for the research and development of new technologies and services.
Viessmann has operated in China for 20 years and has five sales offices and hundreds of showrooms. The new site is centrally located in one of the most important commercial areas of the country, close to Viessmann’s partners, customers and many suppliers.
“We see an enormous potential in the Chinese market and have decided to expand our production capacities here,” said Prof. Dr. Martin Viessmann, Chairman of the Viessmann Group, in his welcome address at the inauguration event on November 5th. “Through this newly acquired proximity (to Viessmann’s partners, customers and suppliers), we will be able to supply the market with solutions even more effectively.”
“China is one of the most important markets in the world, not only for individual heating systems but also for innovative and comfortable living,” said his son Max Viessmann, co-CEO of the Viessmann Group. “The country is a true champion of innovation, especially concerning digital applications – and is therefore also a role model for Europe. We want to make the most out of these opportunities.”
In keeping with Viessmann’s mission to create living spaces for future generations, and to symbolise a commitment to climate protection, a tree will be planted in the dry, western region of China for each of the attendees present at the inauguration ceremony.
